Drummer Dan Sorensen cut his musical teeth as cofounder of Upstate New York indie-pop quartet The Orange to national acclaim.  After the dissolution of that group in 2002, he went on to play with Chip Fasciana, Under Violet, Knotworking, and several other Albany, NY mainstays.  Sorensen is featured on recordings by The Orange, Jupiter Sunrise, Under Violet, and Princess Mabel.  His love of public shirtlessness and strong yet gregarious personality are matters of local legend.

The drummer conceived of Sugar Cookie as a way to realize his dream of playing with the area musicians he admired in a context that took scheduling difficulties and prior commitments out of the equation.  The project afforded him the opportunity to both reunite with his former The Orange band mates and engage in long-threatened collaborations with other old friends.  This recording also marks Dan’s debut as producer, guided by Frank, the two believe their results speak for themselves.  He plans to continue working with all of the musicians featured on this project in various capacities; stay tuned.
